Following the huge success of the Blackstar HT-5R Combo (one of Blackstar's best-selling amps) is its new and improved version: The HT-5R MkII Guitar Tube Combo Amp. New features include the Voice switch for each of the 2 channels, and easy-to-read "chicken head" knobs.
The Clean channel has no-brainer Volume and Tone knobs for ease of tweaking. Its Voice 1 mode has a vintage-style American clean amp sound for crystalline highs, tight bass response, and miles of headroom. Voice 2 has that British "Class A" clean sound; you get extra mids and a nice breakup when you play hard or when you crank up the volume.
As for its Overdrive channel, Voice 1 gives you anywhere from classic rock crunch to that 80s hot-rodded stack sound. Voice 2 delivers a modern "preamp-boosted" distortion that is suitable for today's rock and metal players.
As always, the ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) allows you to summon American or British amp sounds and response, or a sweet spot of both. The built-in reverb also makes this compact amp sound richer and bigger. Other handy features include an effects loop, emulated line/headphone out, USB recording out, an mp3/line input, and the ability to bring the output power down to 0.5 watts; so you can still enjoy the HT-5R MkII even while the neighbors are sleeping.
